Hello,
Just read (and watched) your piece on Mike Drew's Elva sad situation. I am a friend of Mikes and he just directed me to your site. I've heard that BS about the lower ring before. Glad to heard it confirmed. I've owned a number of Brit sports cars and currently drive a '59 Lotus Elite and am in the (slow) process or restoring a '59 Elva Courier S1 split window type. It was upgraded to a MGB 1800 before I purchased it last year which is fine with me but I don't know the condition of the motor. Sounded good when I started it and showed 50/60lbs of pressure without overheating but that was only a test start. Never got to actually drive it as the brakes were shot and carb linkage missing so ....... Glad I found your site and look forward to more informative posts. Please take Mike to the cleane ........'er .... I mean please take care of my pal Mike. ;) I owned a Courier IV (E1101) way back in '64 but mine was a stiff axle MGA powered type and Mike's is a much nicer T type. Back to the garage.
